Spiritual Wisdom

I’m wisdom years ahead of you,

I know what you’re going through,

My words are free for you to grasp

The lessons learned can be a gasp,

Young man, young lady and in between,

It doesn’t take much to change the scene,

Life is faithfulness in doing right,

There’s no cool in a fuss or fight,

If you don’t want to end up wrong,

Now is time, live well and long,

Learn the things that you don’t know,

What I think of you is what you show,

Use your mind just to focus,

Forget being slick with hocus pocus,

Respect whoever made the wonderful you,

Cast your cares upon Him too,

He made you to smile, laugh and win,

You can do that over again and again,

There’s no room in your heart to hate,

But if you do your heart is desolate,

Who cares if you fall?

Get up and re-try,

There is a secured love,

Allow it from the sky,

Use common sense, cherish having faith,

It’s never in a quart, a fifth nor an eighth,

Respect your elders to take you far,

To know where you’re going or just who you are,

Not here to take away the fun of your life,

But I only want to cut off your heading for strife,

Righteousness and carefulness keeps you out of trouble,

Selflessness and lovingness returns to you, double,

Pray my sisters, pray my brothers

Of all colors and creeds,

Pray my fathers, pray my mothers

To sow your wisest seeds.

Don't be surprised,

This is a word

from the drilled of the wised!

How very appropriate a poem to learn from life as you grow. It teaches us how to become wiser with the age of life. I voted it up, shared and pinned it.

Very sound advice in your poetic lines. I sense your concern about the young (and older) traveling on the right path.

Wisdom is always crying out, seeking those who wish to understand. Beautiful poem. This would be a wonderful poem to be read at high school and College graduations. It's the most critical time when children will need to put wisdom to use. Voted up, useful, awesome and sharing.

Wonderful advice word put to a rhythmic poem. Why would anyone choose hate over love is so hard for those of us who know Him to understand. He loves us equally and teaches us to do the same if we will listen.

"What I think of you is what you show." Boy! That is a world of perception in just nine words. Your thoughtful -wise- poetry was great!

And I loved the bright music too.

The old saying, 'you can't put an old head on young shoulders' comes to mind. However, when we put our faith in God and ask for more wisdom, He will give His children what they need. What lovely thoughts behind this poem. Love it!

The old saying of youth being wasted on the young comes to mind.

They never take heed of the words of wisdom from their elders, and by the time we grow up enough to know the score, and how to accomplish things, we're nearly to our twilight years, and the mind and body no longer have the strength to do obey our hard-learned lessons.

I really enjoyed this poem of wisdom. The time has come (and always was) to seek the right and reject the wrong, for sure! It's wonderful advice and a lovely way of doing it! Good job!

Excellent advice not only for today's youth, but everyone who allows negativity and bad choices to lead them astray.

Hi "word55" I love this poem. It is not just for the young though, it is for all of us even in retrospect to see where wisdom has delivered us from making an absolute mess. Wisdom is the key and the right use of knowledge. Thank you for sharing and listening intently to your heart to share your expression. Have a spectacular week.
