"Wisdom Over Money"

Wisdom over money

A phrase I heard from a friend

And it's the devil that pays our bills

Our debt, unto each other

Neglecting the recollection of sin

Take the system and flip it

Wisdom over money

Fear be the first step to both

To be without

Man make the money, then money done made the man

And now he believe he God

Exerting control over the people and the marketplace

And here comes wisdom flipping over the table, the system on it's head

It's wisdom over money, the hierarchy lay down in a fraudulent bed

And it be the table, where dirty deals are made and where we break our bread

Each crumb feeding the misrepresentation of soul, our appetite is fed

And it's the devil again, behind every dollar and every bite

Money be thy darkness, and wisdom be thy light

And how is it wisdom over money, when paper is worth more than our very flesh

And our brains are chained to survival and pre programmed to fear

Born unto the shadows of the unknown, knowledge come with every year

And it's knowledge that knows the price, as wisdom sees the cost

Money let's us know the winners, as wisdom precedes with loss

With no backing from a reserve or a bank

No...wisdom is a flowing river

Wisdom is a giant tree

Wisdom be thy savior

Wisdom flow over me

As my roots dig deeper into the land

And I bear the fruit of wisdom unto your hand

And you dangle it over the serpent as he slithers and rives on the ground

This time we will know better, we a unified vision this time around

Rooted in the philosophy of his words

And it's wisdom over money, and we lay the rest to waste

And as it decomposes and decays, money loses influence and we lose the taste

And it has no influence on belief, except as a certain type of kindling or pseudo fossil fuel, a reminder to ignite our concerted efforts to perform deeds

And I sit back, and I breathe, and I think, and I pray, and I see

Wisdom over money

Wisdom over money

Wisdom over money

Ah how I pray for wisdom over money, but alas I doubt that prayer will ever come true. Money has created most of the evils in the world and holds us all as prisoners. Many worship it blindly. I would much rather return to a society that barters for its needs. One of your greatest poetic works Eric. Well done.

With all my wisdom I am still a fool when it comes to money. I pray that I can learn to be a good steward of my money but only time will tell. Outstanding piece of work with a strong message.

True Jodah, barter is a far more tangible system, you can determine true value and worth with barter where as money you can really manipulate things and then like you said blind and deceive. Thanks for the visit as always.

Thanks Dana, it's extremely difficult to put wisdom over money, if we were to truly do that in this system we would all end up on the streets, and what does that display to us about the existing system, well it wants us chained to ignorance and vice. Thanks for the visit Dana.

I practice being patient in putting wisdom over money everyday. It is a difficult thing to do. The devil has put his curse on earth, and now we need that green stuff to help us exist. So, it has become difficult to step out of the mindset of a greedy world and step into your own, and just know that you can live without the rule of the devil, use his curse with the wisdom of throwing it away for freedom in the end. I don't know if that made any sense, Eric, but I loved this hub!! :)

Hi Missy, it made perfect sense to me. A friend of mine said the phrase "wisdom over money" and the words alone had a very distinct power and the phrase provided a form of solace for myself; as we choose wisdom over money, we choose so many wonderful alternatives.

      Thanks for the visit.

How true Eric - I'd equate it to "can't buy love/happiness" it's a shame the world gives credence to the rich while the wise are often overlooked. Nice work, as usual.
