I wish I were young in the fifties, when rock was beginning to swell,

And some of the greatest bands ever, were coming out of their shell.

If when I just turned fifteen, when that new band had only just reared,

clean shaven and Liverpool spoken, were very smartly geared.

First they conquered Great Britain, then the U.S. of A, girls minds really went crazy when ‘The Beatles’ came swinging their way.

Some say it’s really all over, that ‘The Beatle’s’ music is dead, but it’s touched a new generation, and the words of their songs are still said.

Their music will not be forgotten, their era will not really die, it will live for ever and ever, dispite two souls in the sky.

I wish I were born in the fifties, when the world was beginning to live, and the lads with their teddy-boy jackets, and trousers without any give.

The kids with their new ‘tranny’ wireless, and the scooters all over the road,

Oh, I wish I were born in the fifties, get away from this up to date mode

      Ralrus. Yes, there were great changes taking place then. The world was on the verge of recovering from a world war and there was work. Life is an evolving, changing thing and what came next was a dip. All our yesteryears... we think the grass is greener, but it always is a mixed bag of god and bad. Anyway, thanks for reading x

      Yes, the fifties spawned many good things, but be glad you were not there, for what followed shattered many in so many various ways. All hell broke loose along the time of Nov. 22, 1963. From then on it was one terror after another and rock and roll was an aid to many of us in ways. All the lives lost and learning that life is not like TV of the fifties and that the good guy is not so good after all and to fight in war one cannot be 'good'. The rules changed in the 60's. It's a nice tribute to the Beatles none the less. Peace now and much love. CC

      was thinking about them today funnily to mention in a hub i am going to put together, my husband is from Liverpool
