With Angels...A poem

Updated on August 14, 2012

Listen to the song of angels

As I wrap you in my heart

Fly high like the eagles

If we have to be apart

Play at the foot of the throne

As I remember how you were

How bright your life shone

Your eyes filled with laughter

Rest among the stars

As I wait to see you again

So near yet so far

Held in the arms of heaven

I see the light of your smile

In the dawn of new days

And feel your love for awhile

In the suns gentle rays

But when the rain falls

And I want to hold you in my arms

I have to trust the greater call

That angel’s keep you safe from harm

So bathe in heavens glory

And know I will never forget you

This is not the end of our story

A mother’s love is eternally true

BEAUTIFUL! A mother's lost yet the poem does not dwell in sadness and bitterness but in renewed hope and love...and faith. "A sweet voice to heaven reach /winged flight cease as angels pause /hymn of love in praise of God."

We pour ourselves into our writing, constantly melding our words and emotions, but in some instances, there seems no reconciliation...

But, that said, this is an incredible tribute, and your images you've chosen are breathtaking. Thank you so much for sharing yourself with us, my friend..

I have been drawn to be a new follower of yours at one of life's most difficult times - my heartfelt condolences to you and your family.

      Much love,

      Will

The darker things come easier to me than poetry such as this, but without the light there would be no dark, and sometimes we have no control over the things that we write as the muse or emotions take over as it was with this. taking all my hopes and prayers and turning them into a poem that surprised me as well.

thank you so much for your very very kind, generous words

You do this so well, so effortlessly, that I almost forgot you were the queen of darkness. Perhaps because of your scratchings in the dark, you're able to truly appreciate the light.

This feels like it should be published in a journal somewhere. I know you appreciate your hubfans, but this deserves a wider audience. Just something to consider. Peace.
