With Regrets - A Love Poem

Updated on June 12, 2014

To Love...

Let Go...

And Grow...

When the music played so softly

In your arms I knew I’d fall

Holding onto you so tightly

In my mind, it happened, that’s all

As the night grew older

How I wanted to be near

Tell you that I missed you

And how I love you, dear

Striking my emotions

Memories, never did they fade

Long lost time of regrets

Of choices that we made

Drinking from the glass

Wine in seductive sips

Yearning to kiss you, honey

Forever on your lips

Across the room, strong vibes

With each and every glance

Knowing that I’d give anything

For just another chance

I feel you in my heart

And that you feel the same

But now we have new loves

For that, it would be shame

Still I struggle for the strength

To finally set us free

You will live inside my soul

Always, tenderly

Sound like some on a date stirring across the room at an old fling.
