With a Sovereign Mind---a Poem

Freedom Is No Concept but Experience
Freedom Is No Concept but Experience

I salute to mind's insolent volition

singing hymns to wakeful, untamable soul

unchaining my intent is my highest mission,

using my own mind is my highest goal.

Devoted to harmony and social order

I vote for anything majority may seek

citizen of Earth not caring for border

bowing to no one's political clique.

In love with Nature and all human race

seeing likely home on every distant star,

a free-willed gypsy belonging to no place

up for any journey no matter how far.

People can think whatever they may choose,

uninvited to arrange my intimate spheres

my freedom of mind I can never lose

it has been my treasure for so many years.

Not willing to pay for stupidities of others,

not ready to support irresponsible kinds

even if I see them as sisters and brothers,

it is their call to use their own minds.

Craziness of people doesn't make me care

I never started any of their games,

I don't see it honest, in any way fair,

so I turn deaf ear to all their claims.

Blaming someone else is a cheap excuse

for mental laziness and a lack of trying

so why don't we all decide to use

our best intent instead of crying.

Sovereign in mind we grow and we thrive

nothing else can give us more power to win

nothing else can make us feel more alive

to become more than we have ever been.

Michael, my old buddy---Barring some irresponsible outward forms of personal sovereignty---there is absolutely nothing that can stand in out way when it's about our inner spiritual freedom.

In fact, that's the only freedom worth pursuing these days when we don't have people walking in shackles on the streets anymore. And we can achieve it relatively fast by inspiring our gut-nature (subconscious) with the reality of no one being able to walk into our physical brain to press on some buttons there.

As soon as we deeply realize how all our processing of reality is of our own make---we are setting our foot in the direction of sovereign freedom. It's as easy as we are willing to make it.

Thank you for those praising words my friend.

Most of the "free spirit" would agree with your "sovereign mind", though it might take several life span for me to express myself the way you do.

Sovereign mind yes, yet we are to make a full stop at the first stop sign, than the next, and a speed limit to honor.. Soon we might admit our autonomous yet under constraint of a supreme or the Supreme. From here on sovereign in mind exceed limit of flash and flows freely in spirit realm where 'all things are possible'. As your last line says "to become more than we have ever been." (Yes I know.)

Teresa---Thank you for sharing the way you experienced the poem. Maybe some day I'll make one about arrogance; this one was about personal sovereignty---freedom from social brainwashing...that stuff. Arrogance means imposing something onto others, doesn't it?

Nevertheless, I like seeing that you are using your own mind.

My eyes immediatamente zoomed on to the winging bird in the blue wide open sky...

This bird is fixed on the image promising freedom...

In reality all birds must return to the earth...

The wordy po'm is an excellent teaching about arrogance per se

The good 1 clever thinker versus the lazy lot

Thanks for the reminders with an evaluating smile from teresahewesufatheallround

That old cliché, " Rolling with the flow " is never my way of thinking. A sovereign mind works for me. Great poetry. Great message!
