Forever can be altered
in the merest of a twinkling...
The sands we take for granted
can quickly shift without an inkling.
In a blink, the world we know,
that which appears most certain...
can vanish right before our eyes
behind Destiny's curtain.
It behooves the wise of heart
to take but naught for granted...
for lingers promise of the day
when all can be supplanted.
Expressions of the love we hold
should never be kept hidden...
amends for wounds that pierce and sting
ought never be forbidden.
To live each day without regret
is wisdom that is golden...
Gratitude is wisdom's price
to which we lie beholden.
