"Women of this World" by Eric Wayne Flynn

"Women of this World"

A boy lying in bed

Fantasy fills his mind

Long stems wrap around it

A flower in bloom has entered his room

Sweet nectar drips

From petal to lips

Mesmerized by her hips

Trying to get a grip

Of the women of this world

Puzzles in pieces

Curved and colorful

Ready to be manipulated, guided,coerced

Wanting us men to figure them out

Begging us to get a clue

I think I at least got an idea

Trying it out

Taking a hint

The flower opens up, allowing love to enter

Love being a dick as usual

Torturing

Tantalizing

Tempting

The women of this world

Seducing your senses with nonsense

Captive, helpless against her flower power

She asks so little

In reality

Sitting on the window sill

Feeling the admiration of the sun

Wishing to be

Understood

Or watered

So to stimulate

Growth

Always wanting something

I lay in bed and watch the women of this world

Decay and wilt away from me

Realizing the bed where they bloomed

Is a cold climate

I agree Christine, I ask a lot of people in my life and in the past I've been so focused on myself. I'm trying to be better with women, I use to objectify (although I didn't think so at the time) and now the next time I am confronted with a relationship I may be better and healthier in that endeavor. It's always interesting though, if it wasn't then why bother.

      Respectfully of course:

"...watch the women of this world..."

Unashamed, men can watch. In the watch, they can guard the "watch;" with what they can't "watch." A women with a man is a mystery. Watching and Unwatching brings a balanced understanding. This is done at all levels of understanding, not just physical, and it's an art. Master it well, and the time to favor her shall come, the set time, yea the set time shall come.

Ah Eric, the women of this world. As boys we are infatuated with them, as men, dazzled by them, but despite our efforts we never truly get to understand them..lol. Great poem.
