Word Loose From Meaning (poem)

Updated on July 3, 2017

These two who always beckon me to part

Awhile which lingers shorter than it should

Combine seduction with your muse for good

Entwined before another thought may start

I swoon with hope to make it understood

What strains remain upon a distant heart

Who knows the secret anguish of the smart

Who did not press to you the times they could

I feel your reaching hopes of warm desire

That I will not set yearnings lose astray

And when the world around us is on fire

To focus all the flames in satin sway

Cast off the winds now call us to aspire

To words that only pressing lips can say

I liked this Martin. The photo you choose to accompany your poetry seemed very apt.

That's a beautiful poem. I like the Cat Stevens song too. I love his music.
