Words are Weapons

Updated on October 23, 2012

Poem written by Cruelkindness

YOU MUST WATCH VIDEO BEFORE READING POEM

Charlie Chaplin Words that Could Change Humanity

Words are Weapons

Time moving speech glues eyes to lids turning worlds

Shooting bolts of sound gently bring hair standing to a chill

Egocentric light words sink flesh deep leaving shallow skins

Ghostly imagination bring kneel to their pugnacious bones

Hypnotized into sacrificed souls drawn by belligerent submission

Poised passionate stone words ripple right through future history

Nailing iron voices of burning stakes to savage hearts.

In a single moment, spoken words can change humanities fate.

All is listening....

Your hub reminds me of song Words... - "You'll think that I don't mean a single word I say, It's only words and words are all I have to take your heart away... " Words are just tools, weapons - yeah, may be, but how are the weapons being used and by whom decides the consequence of usage... Very nice poem.

Great poem. Great hub. Unfortunately, great speeches today inspire people to do only one thing - nothing.

I am guessing that somehow my comment got erased or you didn't like it. I am in Aww the message of your hub implies. You are a great writer and your words are double edged just like my title Words are Weapons. Words can cut like a knife but here your every word speaks of how we can turn this around in an instant to have peace and love. A very powerful message and a very powerful hub. I am honoured you used my words to acheive this message. Thank you Cruelkindness for promoting my webpage and all the good you are sharing on Hubpages!

All is listening and all is reading. I am in Aww of the message of your hub about my title. Words are Weapons and they can cut like a knife. You did the exact opposite and at the end of your poem you wrote how words in a moments time, could bring peace and love to our world, forget war. A very powerful message and a powerful Hope. Well Done. Thank you , Cruelkindness for promoting my webpage. I am honoured you used my Words. I am emailing your hub to all my friends.

Barbsbitsnpieces - your hubs are phenominal with a self created new style of subject. I am filled with uplifting spirit from you comment and the notice you have taken to my poem.

geogo - Your comment was perfect

Vellur - Thank you and can't wait for more informative hubs on the beautiful things in life.

Voronwe - You always give heartfelt comments that mirror the pure soul of yourself. I am a appreciated fan of your ravishing poetry.

Phelcly - Thank you, just commented on your poem and it was super awesome.

kjforce - I love your witty loving spirit, you to me are poetry. thank you

Gypsy Rose Lee - Your comments are always filled with joy I can see it in your poetry as well.

Amy Becherer - thank you so much for your comment. I just read your poem "Had to Take a Fall" and I suggest that everyone should go check it out. To my I feel she has an Irony Style but that's just my opinion.

Diana Grant - Thank you for your kind words. To answer you question, I always come up with my poems by starting with a title first having it usually sums up my words to follow . Then at the end I find any video's or image's that are help paint my thoughts. For this poem I ask others to give me a title, when I seen this title I immediately thought of world leaders throughout history.

BeyondMax - You have been very delightful commenting on so much of my work. thank you

stessily - I am more than honored for you comment.

Imkarn23 - Very thrilled to see your clever comment knowing the message I'm trying to relay seems to present such clear meaning giving wonder on how it gets so complicated leading my response to your more than appreciated comment to continued after the next.

Writer20 - Comments of great kindness feeling privileged for you and reminding me their are still people as yourself. I just don't recall knowing any personally =)

Sir Vincent Moore - witty comments from the side bar spoken for all with message to me that you see my angles in the lines. Knowing that listening with agreement is meaningless and knowing that this is another attempt of the obvious change for all. C. Chaplain famous for being a mime gives a message in his work being the only way he could. Having similar appearance characteristics of current evil he attempts a strategic emotional powerful speech to give humans humane reason. To me I see it is obvious that we don't care to change unless their is reason of self gain for the individual human in order to do what is ethically known for all humanity and if acted upon it would be unethical done under these intentions of selfish rewards. Leaving me with clear complication. Anyway I'm rambling through words to give appreciation to you Sir Vincent while giving myself much enjoyment. Kinda like sitting in dead dive bars knowing that the few strangers sitting on identical stools being held up by the counters serving drinks for one's own reason filled with the reason they are ordering the drink.

picklesandrufus - Honored for not only your comments but the action of sincerity for returning to read yet again. Super awesome profile name!

Mhatter99- Consideration for saying all with so little so I can respond with so little.

I will respond to all of these hub comments and I am extremely pleased with all the comments so far showing such sincerity with clever intelligent humans of real hearts that can see.

cruelkindness, You have quite a way with words, and your words are powerfully prefaced by the clip from "The Great Dictator."

I liked this, and the video and poem worked well together. Was the video your inspiration for this poem, or did you write the poem and then look for a companion video?

I've never seen or heard Charlie Chaplin's speech before now, but I, like millions of others, have thought the same ideals, yet wars are still fought, and men, women and children still die. And as long as weakness, fear, jealousy and greed exists, so will injustice. If there was a resolution, I believe we would not still see atrocities, such as yesterday's mass killings in Syria, with over 30 children and many more adults dead.

The brilliant minds that create innovative technologies, seen in our homes, businesses, medicine and every realm of our lives, haven't been able to find a solution to the lack of civility, much less peace, between people. Rather than the concept of sharing the earth, we want to stake a claim and rule the world. All the stirring speeches and ideologies can't change the fact that anyone or anything that gets in the way of another's ambition has got to go. Differences are deemed intolerable. I believe history and have come to accept that as long as human beings exist on earth, there will be no peace.

Very thought-provoking, but sad testament to humanity, Cruelkindness.

Words can maim and kill the soul and words can soothe and heal. Voted up. Loved the video. Charlie Chaplin was wrongfully exed out of the U.S. I think he had senate power at least.

One the most uplifting hubs I've come across! Brilliant addition of the video, cruelkindness - a powerful preface to your poem of well intentioned and crafted words.

I must reflect upon them further. Thank you.

      @Cruelkindness...Great exposure to life truths!

Charlie Chaplin was a genius, and, fortunately, he was one of many Hollywood types who used his genre to promote truth. If Hitler had lived those words, the world, indeed, would have been drastically different for millions of people.

I'd like to mention your Hub on the one I've just written entitled "The Amazing Truth About Fiction".

Brilliant oratory. A Utopia that many wished for, but like so many before him, they were just words unheeded. Your words had an interesting twist and possibly meaning? It's up to each reader to decipher, swallow and digest your words for real meaning. Well done, voted UP.

All is listening! and learning, yes? Even 'in submission', me wonders..

Words have a way of meaning more than one thing at one time - such as yours, for instance..
