Words of Sway
Words of Sway
By Tony DeLorger © 2013
Eloquent though the words of sway,
in absence of the truth dismay,
and all that hinges so endues,
and we regardless remain bemused.
For words are cheap in some heartless minds,
and gain alone does drive their kind,
and words the grease of actions placed,
to follow courses we wished erased.
Some claw away at life like prey,
until it pleads for end of days,
others, games to manipulate,
in pleasured wins that separate.
Divide us all and segregate,
for some to rise and the losers sate,
under foot of garrulous men,
who's sins await our tragic end.
Those without hearts of purity and truth,
these souls of glass an obvious ruse,
do bolster their inflated wills,
to placate a narcissistic ill.
In truth these morally inept pariahs,
gather like locusts their strength united,
to carry a world to ends their own,
their madness the guise of leader's thrones.
And all I see is political games,
when lives at stake and world to tame,
but love is all that remedies that,
not strategic games nor forced combat.
Words of sway can temper some,
but actions carry far more drum,
the beat of life an endless drone,
please let the voice of love be known.
One thing is for sure, our priorities are all wrong in this world. Money and power should be the tools to help those fellow human beings that for some reason have become lost, not for the ingratiation and gain of self.
