Words of a Poet

Updated on February 19, 2014
Source

When you write.... romantic poetry ..
words can be trouble, colors,
meanings ..misinterpreted...
expressions heard ...are often not
what the poet meant,
for each reader relates... to how they feel,
as you touch their mind..
revealing emotions they have carried
for many lives.. or just that day

That person who should know..
the poet... who uses the power
of the written word.. as he
pierces the hardest heart..
warms the coldest soul,
kisses the softest flower..
without disturbing ..the other petals

Yet each write ...lets the reader
interpret the words
to satisfy ...their own needs
and dreams.. making the poem
special to all.. but individually,
pure bliss.... at the same time

So to my love ..
when I say.... I love you ..
it is not... the words of a Poet,
but the words
that come ...from my heart
to you.. and only you ..

cleaner3 The person at the end of the poem is lucky to read your words. If someone asked me the definition of a poet, I would say, "go read what cleaner3 on Hub Pages wrote in "Words of a poet". What a phenomenal description, not to mention these incredible pictures that accompany each one of your hubs.

Blessings also with your schooling...It is hard to keep up with Hub Pages because of LIFE, but I think most of us hubbers get on it as much as time allows. God bless you cleaner3 Sparklea :)

I still love her will do, you can leave off the LOL, lol.

Read this last night and was signed out and too sleepy to sign back in. Going to school? I did a few years back and it was really fulfilling and fun.

About the poem...I use to think it funny or strange people could think so much happened to me so I stopped writing in first person and they still thought so, so you can't win! But if they like it that is all that matters and you know we love yours!

Beautifully explained as only a true poet is able to convey the words of a poet no doubt about it! Love has so many meanings and words for each individual is unique and as you have pointed out here so wisely, when we happen to read a poem, it could even matter what was going with that person that very day, and our interpretation is far from the what the poet's mind was thinking at the time it was written. That is the beauty of poetry.

So glad to see you writing this day dear Michael. You and your poetry have been missed here.

Up and more, pinning and tweeting

      Hugs,

      Faith Reaper
