Words on a Page Have Meaning

Updated on December 7, 2013

Written words upon the page have meaning,

and from a poet's pen, they are placed,

Fine words to be shared in a metered rhyme,

with special verses, each interlaced.

His feelings flow like a strong river's current,

with rhythm and a smooth mellow refrain,

A part of each artist, his gifts given to all,

in his painted words on the canvas, to retain.

Words flow down like a warm summer's rain,

with the lightning and thunder, in kind,

Cool breezes calm the visiting storm,

with words gathered, gently from his mind.

His words may rise like a warming sun,

ever spaning a book's pages, as they're read,

Then leave the reader with a contentment at last,

as a glorious sunset, is spread.

Like a beautiful song with sweet melody,

words range from his low notes to high,

Our emotions are stirred with the message there,

and our spirits, then may all fly.

Soon after we've read the cloth of his thread,

a marvelous quilt, he seems to have sewn,

As a craftsman creates a work of art,

God's gifts and His treasures are shown.

Our goal and in our works, that which, we as writers, strive to accomplish.
