Words

Updated on March 3, 2011

Words vs. Actions

Deeds reveal

what words conceal...

Truth that does not lie.

To talk the talk yet

Fail the walk

Can only Truth deny.

The spoken word,

Though often heard,

With empty echoes cry.

To fade within

The shadows thin

When actions they defy.

Sweet silence jelled

With deeds will spell

Reality's reply.

Yes, acts reflect

What words neglect,

Truth that can not lie.

And yet it all boils down to afterwords....what folks say about you at your funeral is either a mouthful or a convention of mimes. ~~MFB III

Beautiful, tnderhrt23! So true, so true. Actions speak volumes. Words are just words until they come alive, which is what we try to do as poets, right? Epi recommended you to me, and I'm glad he did. I plan to read more of your poetry!
