Wow Another Year

Updated on January 4, 2017

Speechless And In Awe

What an incredible time to live

How come after all these years

I still can't put into words my feelings

A love that wets me like rain

Where every part of my body is touched

Looking back I keep trying to find the beginning of love

I can see years and years

Many times filled with sadness and tears

My eyes watching all that happens

My emotions flaring and my thoughts emerging

Always different and surprising

Like a bird who lands on a branch for a quick visit

Then it changes it's mind and stays for hours

Observing life and all it's magnificent beauty

Time passing as quickly as a fast moving plane

Then as slow as a dew drop

Those beautiful sunrises

Still being chased by those breath taking sunsets

How can I possibly fill in the gaps ?

What has happened each day

That continues to take my breath away

The hours slipping through my hands

Smoother than olive oil running through my fingers

Impossible to grab

Now matter how hard I try

Our accomplishments stacked on top of our failures

A crazy pile that leans to the left then to the right

Tilting back and then sometimes forward

Always rising and swaying

Some how surviving through it all

I try again and again to put my finger on it

I get more frustrated and confused

Then I watch nature

As the wind comes along and blows the pile into the air

Not to destroy what we have done

To remind us life is always changing

We have to learn to enjoy each special moment

Each different than the next

So in the end we can say we have lived

Maybe one day the right words will come

Until then it's alright to fumble and struggle

Keep trying to piece our life together

Isn't life amazing

Loved for what it is and always has been

An unfinished puzzle

Where one person picks up

Where the other person leaves off

This year I am making sure to keep track of the days and using each one to the fullest so I can account for all I did and get everything done that should be done.

MsDora So much can happen in one day. Depending what we are doing we may miss the whole day entirely. We might sleep in. Have to work or just be busy writing. Other times we might be outside all day and wonder where did the day go. Either way have fun and enjoy.Thank you so much for reading and sharing. Every day has twenty four hours,1440 minutes and 86,400 seconds all depend on how you look at it.

I like your imagery: "Like a bird who lands on a branch for a quick visit Then it changes it's mind and stays for hours." And your rhetorical question is a great conclusion. "Isn't life amazing? Quite a good read.
