You Just Don't Want to be Loved (Poem)

Updated on September 18, 2013

If you reject the hand of Jesus

When He extends it out to you,

You are refusing

The precious gift of salvation,

If you close the door to your heart

When Jesus knocks,

Then you are rejecting eternal life

You just don’t want to be loved!

If you’ve done something

Contrary to His will, and because

Of guilt you turn and walk away,

You just don't want to be loved

He won’t condemn you

He came to seek and save the lost,

If you would only see

The love the Father has for you

Turn to Him, repent and ask Him to forgive you,

He is the same today as He was yesterday

He hasn’t changed Jesus saves!

His love will never change,

If you turn and walk away

Then you just don’t want to be loved,

Take His hand as He extends it out to you

You really do need His love.

This is a great message. I think the hardest part of redemption is forgiving yourself.

One of the melodies of the redemption song is to forgive oneself, and to make it a personal reality. God forgives us, so we don't have the legal right not to forgive ourselves. It is only through His love and grace it is experiential. It is a struggle at times, but we are more than conquerors though Jesus Christ our Lord. Thank you for your support. Have a wonderful day.
