Yes That Was Me

Updated on October 21, 2012

My Head Was Bobbing

You thought I was bobbing for apples

My eyes were closed and down went my head again

This is from pure exhaustion

I push my body to its limits

I go where few dare to go

I see all my dreams take over as I go from place to place

I will not stop and this won't be the last time you see my head dip and weave

Like a great fighter trying to outsmart and out think his opponent

Avoiding every punch

So he can come back fighting with great enthusiasm and new found power

Lifting his head

O.k. maybe just tilting it up a bit for starters

Eyes open or do we need those clothes pins to hold the eye lids up

My thoughts come through in colors this time they are the red, white and blue

How lucky am I to have the colors of old glory

Now I can wave in the wind and sail to a land where noone has ever been

shiningirisheyes I was trying to write a story and no matter what I did I could not stay awake. The colors I seen were spots when I nodded off time and time again. Then I got some strength thinking the same colors are the colors of our flag and how wonderful it is.Thanx for reading.

Delightful poem. I now have the possibility to lay down and nap at any time but boy was my head bobbing at university and when I had to go to work everyday. I'm just not a morning person.
