It's Yesterday Once More

Updated on July 6, 2013

Missing you is not the hardest part. It’s knowing I once had you is what breaks my heart. And I just wish I could forget you just like how you forgot about me.

She’s just a lonely girl
Waiting for someone
Who will love
And care for her.

He’s just a happy boy
Popular in school
Intelligent...
Eye-catcher.

She turned around,
She sees him.
He glanced her way
But never cared to say.

That’s yesterday.
Now, they talk and laugh
Of many things
All day long.

In a blink of an eye
Her loneliness ease out
Every now and then
She’s so happy now.

She don’t know why
He had to leave so soon
Tomorrow again
Will be the same as yesterday.

Someone asked me if I knew you. A million memories flashed through my mind and I just whispered...

“Not anymore”.

Spy, too many times the people we thought we knew change to the point of being beyond recognition. That's why I'm so steadfast in being true to myself. Sure, we all grow, but our truths shouldn't change if they are indeed real.

Be true to yourself, lady. Those who no longer see why they were attracted in the first place, are not true to themselves, therefore cannot be true to you!

Absolutely beautiful. You've really become an expert on expressing emotion in your poems. The final lines and the first lines are always powerful, sometimes more so than the poem itself. Though the poem itself is like the middle of the story, the meat. The first intro line is the prologue, the final line is the epilogue. Great job. Always a pleasure,

      -Aubrey.
