You Are Everywhere

Updated on July 1, 2014

Fallen eyelashes
Shooting stars
Stumbled upon 11:11's
I wish for you
in everything.
Your name
is what echos
through my skin
when asked
what I want.
It ricochets
through my body
as goosebumps.
And I see
your name
everywhere I go.
Plastered on billboards
as someone else.
I couldn't escape it
even if I wanted to.
You were my
temporary bliss.
The soulmate
I thought I had
found.
You are everywhere.
In the grape smoke
that escapes my lips
instead of yours now.
In the way I
word my words.
In every white truck
that cruises downtown.
You are the flashbacks
that hit me
in the middle of class
and I have to
grip my desk
to keep from
screaming.
You are the
skipped heartbeats
every time my phone
goes off.
You are every love
quote I've ever
come across.
You are the jealousy
that runs through
my veins every time
I see you with someone else.
So I think back
to when we first kissed
by the bathrooms
and all I could think
was that I was so
excited to do it
again.
I wonder
what you were
thinking.
I think you knew
you had me
at that point though.
So I told you
that everyone always
runs
and you said
"where would I run to?"
So I thought I
was
safe.
Turns out
you
were
a
liar.
And we haven't
talked
since.
