You Are Insane

Updated on April 5, 2012

Driving me Crazy

Don't you ever stop

You are my cat but there has to be rules and limits

I keep telling myself you really are a good pet

You are nice and sweet and not a terror

When you lay in your little bed cleaning yourself quietly

Then it is at that very moment you cause the biggest trouble of my life

That you seem to go on a rampage and look for destruction

Chasing things that you toss at your paws

You look at the part of the plant that you chewed up graciously

A pen or a q-tip that you have stolen

Very,very strange

How did that get there ?

Then you knock it all over the house pretending it to be a mouse

Pouncing on it

Carrying it in your mouth

Dropping it down and then batting it down

Racing and leaping again

Until this poor little thing is nocked under a door,a burea or bed

Now you look confused

Why I don't know

You have gone under the same bed many times before

You walk away as if you are too lazy

Then minutes later lightning strikes

You remembered how to get there and you run full steam

But first clawing at the calendar on the wall along the way

Jumping from chair to chair

Leaping in mid air

Rolling on your back in a wet towel from the shower

Scratching to push a small waste basket barel over

Sniffing at your cat food as if it was poison and I am trying to kill you

Now exhausted and out of energy you come to me

Clawing one last time at my feet for kicks

Then you climb on my lap to be petted

I rub you sofly a few times and then you purr

Out of the blue you bite

Down you go

You are lucky they don't have an institution for cats

I would lock you up and visit you on weekends

When you are heavily sedated

Then would be so kind and cuddly and nice

I would pat you until you fall asleep

See you purr with eyes half shut

Roll on your back and let me touch your belly

Now I know you are completely out of it

In dream land dancing inbetween the tullips and the daisies

Crouching down in some field letting a mouse climb piggy back

So you can stagger around and smile and meow

Like the smallest four legged clown

raciniwa We have to remember animals see and feel differently. They are in tune with sounds and things we don't understand and see.I try to show more love and maybe they will calm down. They give us love unconditionally.Thanx so much.

I remember my dog when she was young, when the door is opened she would run all the way to my room and jumped on the bed, but she bit my shoulder accidentally, from then on, she's banned inside the house, i put her outside, good thing i did not get rabies...

clairemy Playful, funny and inquisitive the list goes on.daisyflowrs it still can.Change it up a bit Make it a make believe story of a cat that gets tangled up in some tape and tries eveything to get free. Then after many many tries the cat finally gets free.So you talk about the cats struggle and persistance. What that person did was wrong. You have to be careful not to get in trouble or get hurt yourself.People are crazy.Dim Flaxenwick Those memories of Princess keep her close to your heart.Never forget and always spread what joy you have found with everyone you know.Thanx so much everyone and to all a wonderful Easter.

      !!!Ha !! Ha!!

This has me laughing till I cry. I love the way you understand cats. I miss my ´Princess´ so much (we´re not allowed cats in this apartment)Everything you describe here, reminds me of her. The chewed up plant, the chasing all over a small object as if it were a real mouse, then the confused look as the cat has driven the little thing under a bed or sofa.

OH! I enjoyed this so much. Your writing is so descriptive, I could see it all, like watching a re run of a film of my ´Princess´´. You´ve made my day, even though i´m crying. Thank you. xxxxx

I actually watched a cat that had duct tape put on his feet. I laughed for a minute, then realized the cat was not all. No one else seemed to notice. I started taking the tape off and got yelled at and threatened. I asked who owned the cat. Someone I had seen at parties on campus stood up and said he owned the cat. He also said some other things. Things he had done to his cat. I punched him square in the face, jumped on him and asked him between blows, "how does this feel?". I was pulled off of him. Pulled away from his bloody face. He pressed charges. I countered with animal cruelty with witnesses. He dropped the charges. I didn't see him around campus much after that. A friend has his cat. The cat is old, but in good hands. Well, this could have been a hub.

daisyflowrs It might work for awhile but sooner or later the duct tape will have to come off. Then her wildness will break loose.Funny thought though.

Put duct tape on your cat's paws, sit back and laugh. It's not cruelty, it's foolery. OK, maybe a bit not nice.

      DREAM ON,

Your cat sounds like a four legged, furry nightmare!

DREAM ON needs to wake up! (Quickly!!)

I am a cat person and cat lover.

I cannot imagine having a monster like that in my care. I know you love your kitty, but enough has got to be enough.

Your kitty sounds insane as well as 'super spooked!!!'

      Ciao...Princess Prisca

I feel much better, thank you. Don't stare into the mirror too long. You may attack your reflection. Ha!

Cats are so full of mischief and fun - I love them to bits, as I sit reading your poem my Max is curled up, snoring on my knee. Your poem sums up cat behaviour so well. Thanks for sharing. Voted up awesome, funny and beautiful.
