You Are Insane
Driving me Crazy
Don't you ever stop
You are my cat but there has to be rules and limits
I keep telling myself you really are a good pet
You are nice and sweet and not a terror
When you lay in your little bed cleaning yourself quietly
Then it is at that very moment you cause the biggest trouble of my life
That you seem to go on a rampage and look for destruction
Chasing things that you toss at your paws
You look at the part of the plant that you chewed up graciously
A pen or a q-tip that you have stolen
Very,very strange
How did that get there ?
Then you knock it all over the house pretending it to be a mouse
Pouncing on it
Carrying it in your mouth
Dropping it down and then batting it down
Racing and leaping again
Until this poor little thing is nocked under a door,a burea or bed
Now you look confused
Why I don't know
You have gone under the same bed many times before
You walk away as if you are too lazy
Then minutes later lightning strikes
You remembered how to get there and you run full steam
But first clawing at the calendar on the wall along the way
Jumping from chair to chair
Leaping in mid air
Rolling on your back in a wet towel from the shower
Scratching to push a small waste basket barel over
Sniffing at your cat food as if it was poison and I am trying to kill you
Now exhausted and out of energy you come to me
Clawing one last time at my feet for kicks
Then you climb on my lap to be petted
I rub you sofly a few times and then you purr
Out of the blue you bite
Down you go
You are lucky they don't have an institution for cats
I would lock you up and visit you on weekends
When you are heavily sedated
Then would be so kind and cuddly and nice
I would pat you until you fall asleep
See you purr with eyes half shut
Roll on your back and let me touch your belly
Now I know you are completely out of it
In dream land dancing inbetween the tullips and the daisies
Crouching down in some field letting a mouse climb piggy back
So you can stagger around and smile and meow
Like the smallest four legged clown
