You Betrayed Me

Updated on April 12, 2011

I guess the joke’s on me,
Trusting that you were true,
Accepting all your stories,
Wasting my time with you.

Oh, you paint a sunny picture
Full of warm days and sun
Playing happily together
Outdoors, having fun.

I’ll bet that you laugh
At my sadness and chagrin -
Setting me up like that -
Your “sincerity” sucked me in.

Floozy, despite your contrary cries
You are just out to make a dime.
You probably even advertise
Where the sun don’t never shine.

You were so believable
In you I completely trusted.
You, lie? Inconceivable!
But now, my ‘friend’, you’re busted.

Seducing my attention
All gussied up to mislead
You thrive on my misconception
That you have what I need.

You are nasty, mean and bad.
You’ve really done me wrong.
I’m left feeling I’ve been had
By you,

Yes, Mr. Turner, rhyme is great for humorous verse, is it not? Those short lines marching relentlessly along... :)

Ah, you know me too well, Ms. Behavior. ;)

      Thank you, Little Kim!

They say that in my state, too, Truckstop Sally!

      Thanks, Loveslove!

I did NOT see this one coming. Good job! The saying in my state is -- If you don't like the weather, just wait a minute!

Saw this one coming; thought it was mother nature though. I planted poppies in the sun on Monday and today its raining buckets. The drops are the size of cheetos puffs.

A rhyme poem huh? Seems appropriate in this instance. I was delighted by the twist ending. Otherwise, this didn't seem like your style. Then it all made sense.
