You Have Got To Love This Weather

Updated on November 26, 2014

It's A Four Letter Word

What a difference a day makes

Yesterday bright and sunny

Sixty three and warm in the sun

Feels like Spring

Walking along

See the ground lay before me

Like a wall to wall carpet

From corner to corner

The trees are all bare

A little breeze as my hair blows in the air

Now so different

Mountains of white

News reports giving you helpful tips

if your out and about be careful

It's Thanksgiving Eve

Delicate and enormous branches of white crystal

Sparkling and moving in different directions

All still not a person in sight

So happy to be home

Away from the traffic and the hustle

Getting heavier by the evening

Wrapping up tonight

Christmas songs playing

White speckles disappearing into the ground

I grab my shovel and make my rounds

The front of the house

The driveway and walk way and around by the back

An hour later

Coming into the house I love

Kicking off my boots and finding a place to hang my jacket to dry

My gloves and hat our set in the bathroom tub

Temperatures drop tonight to 29

Can't get you off my mind

Please be careful wherever you go

Michael-Milec Describing the first snow. Each day is so amazing and different from the next. Feeling closer to nature and everything alive and well. What an incredible surprise to see comment after comment from you. I keep rubbing my eyes. Thank you for being so kind. Have a great day.

Invigorating body and soul. Good to be " late"- it is 15F outside -1 windchill, snow cowered ground. Life though continue to be good and beautiful.

Gypsy Rose Lee I think Thanksgiving is a special time to give thanks for all we have starting with the meal even though it has changed over the years. How precious are the bare basics for survival food and shelter especially during a cold winter. We can all celebrate life in our own unique way. I hope your good health has returned and you both are enjoying the good things in life. Thank you for reading and sharing. You always bring back my smile.

It is so sad here. First no Thanksgiving, then both of us got ill and now I have so much catching up to do. Hope you and your family had a great Thanksgiving.

annart Snow is so different than the rain. You can watch it come down and hit the ground. Pile up little by little. Then once a small mountain began to melt as the temperature drops. Finally turn into rain. Amazing to think how snow covers every spot for miles. So beautiful and pure. Thank you for sharing in the fun and enjoyment.

Such a lovely poem. I get a real sense of being out in the cold and coming into a cosy house. Any weather can have its beauty but snow tops it all - until it starts to thaw into that awful grey mush!

      Well done.
