You Kissed Me

You Kissed Me

I should've seen it coming!

How could you? I told you

I wanted to just be friends if

This was the way it was going to be. . .

You tried to kiss me, but I don't kiss my friends.

Then you say you miss me and

Could we try dating again?

You asked if we were dating,

Would I kiss you then?

Why am I such a fool?

Why didn't I see it then?

You kissed me, you used me -

And I'm the fool that let it happen!

Wow...it certainly took a turn in the end I wasn't expecting...It is true, though, that people will keep on betraying us, and that we will still hang on and find the strength to turn the page, where new people and experiences await!

Oh, that line between friendship and romance...both people have to be on the same side of it or it's not going to work. Lively, emotive poem! :-) ~Lurana

      shanmarie,

Ah it's taken me all day to get over here! I love this... I'm guessing all the ladies can relate to this one... the ex-boyfriend who just can't move on or comes back after you thought the coast was clear? You wrote this perfectly... it makes me think about the guy who thinks he's somehow entitled to his ex because they were something before. I don't know how many guys can actually "just be friends" after the fact. Awesome, loved it, loved the emotion!

      Up, awesome and beautiful!

Hard enough for anyone to just be friends after the fact. . .

It's alright that it took you all day. I appreciate the visit anyway! Thanks for the votes up.

      shanmarie,

Yes, I think there's a difference between being amicable and being friends. I don't think anyone wants hard feelings or a nasty relationship with an ex... but the whole friends concept can be awfully sticky.

No... I know you've got another one hot of the press that I'm trying to get to! :D

Yeah. . .sometimes I'm in a publishing mood. hehe. . . I've got many of them from years ago I've thought about posting, but most I find so cheesy after the fact. I've gone ahead and shared some and some written recently....it all depends on the mood I'm in, I suppose. Motivational kind of mood, that is.

I think the two persons were two lovers before,That is why he tries to kiss her.For him,the relationship doesn't end and for her,it was.Or maybe,it was finished to him too but he couldn't control himself.Men are like that hehe

      shanmarie,

You know what?... I have journals full off poems written from the heart, from the moment... I look back at some of them and think... hey, not to flippin' bad and others, I giggle at their cheesiness; but that's the beauty of poetry, it hits us all differently! I say, let 'em lose... each piece is a feeling and I can appreciate any poem, some just hit differently than others. Just do it! :D

Alright, I'll post some more I think are rather giggle-worthy, but not this particular last verse. That one is for me to know and you never to find out! Hahaha ;)

      shanmarie,

Post 'em with confidence! I've read some really off the wall poetry... scratched my head, and watched others say " 'twas beautiful"... hey, there's something for everyone in poetry :D

Hey, trust me... I've got a couple in my journal that I'd chop off my leg before letting anyone read ;-)

Okay, I just posted you one that maybe isn't that bad. Oh, I know, what you mean. I've had people like things that I wrote that I didn't like before. Maybe I'll post a few more before the night is done, but if you find a big ball of mushy cheese in there somewhere, don't say I didn't warn you!

Haha! Because when it belongs to someone else, it is not embarrassing! Or should I say, less embarrassing?

He he he... when it belongs to someone else it's sweet, when it belongs to us... well we have to wonder how cheesy others think it is, but gosh, from what I can see, the people of HP can't get enough CHEESE :D

Betrayal from a friend can do the most damage to our hearts. : ( It hurts because we trust them. Loved your poem, although it was sad. I also love the pic you chose. Good job! : ) Voted up!!
