You Never Left

Song Lyrics - Music Version to be found on Myspace

You Never Left

Corridors and brick walls

They could never rock me

Only you

Bitumen, epoxy

They could never hold me

Only you

But we

We float away

Over trees

And the Alaskan wilderness

We

We feel the soil

Soft underfoot

Rubber wheels can’t move me

Bars of steel won’t break me

Only you

And although they’ve got me

They will never have me

Only you

But we

We sail away

In lagoons of the Indian River systems

And we wade into salty waves

Of the Atlantic Ocean

I will capture sunsets

Darkness will not blind me

Only you

And your arms will warm me

Like you never left me.

love the reference to glues followed by the BUT WE FLOATED AWAY - nice contrary and opposing idea - irony is underrated and many poets tend to sound a bit... anyway

      Hey Surfeitt,'

I like your music. Do you think any of my poetry would work as a song/ How do you go from poetry to music? I feel that some stuff I write has a strong rhythm - perhaps others don't hear that same rhythm. what do you think?
