You, a poem

Was it the scent of your hair,

The softness of your skin,

Maybe the spark in your eyes,

Perhaps your lovely smile ?

Why not all the above ?

Well, whatever made me

Fly way up with the clouds

When I'm thinking of you,

I cherish and treasure.

Was it your silhouette

Or your caressing hands,

But it wasn't so long

Before I realize

How amazing you are,

And how unusual too.

Way before I knew it,

You already moved in

My dry and lonely heart.

There are many women,

But none of them is you.

So, I've made up my mind,

And if given the choice,

It is you who I want

To see when I wake up,

Until I fall asleep

You I want at breakfast

And lunch and dinner too.

It's your hand in my hand,

Your head on my shoulder,

Your arm wrapped around me,

Your soft voice in my ear,

And your warm loving eyes

Saying unspoken words.

I close my eyes and look at you,

Cause there is nothing else

Really worth looking at

Since the day I met YOU...

Love and longing is wonderfully handled in this poem. It is so pure, so fresh, so beautiful.

Very honest, loving and inspiring! Beautiful poem of expressing that special 'love' for someone.
