You See Rain, I See Liquid Sunshine

Updated on April 15, 2013

Raindrops will not stop.

They have not for days.

This week is so dreary

Making me feel so yucky.

Why won't this rain just go away?

Think of the flowers that soon will bloom.

Look forward to fresh vegetables that the garden will produce.

Smile at the child laughing as she stomps in the puddles.

It is not as fun stomping on a sunny day.

This is the day the Lord has made.

Let us rejoice and be glad,

For everything has it's due season.

Even the rain has a purpose in His plan.

He cannot give a rainbow without first giving the rain.

Sitting on the porch

Listening to the steady drum beat of drops

Falling on the roof.

A reminder to take time to enjoy this day,

To enjoy any day as a gift, even a day

Full of liquid sunshine.

Faith and Blossom, Thanks for reading and for your kind words. I used to grumble at the rain like most people until I heard the phrase "liquid sunshine". That makes it different and better. Enjoy His blessings today.

Lovely poem. I'll try to remember your words during our stormy season and even when it just rains every day for a couple of weeks. I know we need the rain for growing things, but sometimes I feel "waterlogged" in this climate! Okay....mindset: positive!

I love the line liquid sunshine. That is a pretty cool concept to think about. Great work. Me personally, I love when it rains. Unless I want to do something.
