You

You -- who give redolence to the tulips; hide Yourself,

In the priceless sacrifice of loving, come!

You -- who dry my tears in sleep; kiss my cheeks

On the awakening of each new dawn, come!

They ask me who You are … how can I explain

Our silent conversations? You are the Presence

In my presence; the unseen breathing in my breath;

You feed, with longing, the fire of passion in my Heart.

You have woven my shadows with Your hands;

Yet burnt the robes of my impediments,

And thrown them all away. It is Your Light

Which adorns me in my nakedness.

O my sweet tenderness; my beautiful One!

You cause Troy’s Helen to pay homage;

Queen Nefertiti to bow in humility;

Both my sorrows and rhapsodies, lie in Your mercy.

O Love, You who weave, in the blooming sunrise of my todays’;

Rise in the blossoming fragrance of my tomorrows’, Come!

- Manatita, The Lantern Carrier, 5th February, 2019.

You - My Everything, Come!

You – who gave allure to the Egyptian Queens;

Kissed my lips with Your chalice of good wine, come!

You – a silent comforter in my Heart; a scenic nature

Whispering sweet melodies at every moment, come!

I see Your ferns and foliage; sunsets and awakening dawns;

Your perennial stars twinkle, reminding me of Love.

You are in the honeysuckle and the stamen of sunflowers;

The Unseen Breath through which I breathe.

My life and death are all the same to me,

For as long as we are together in this relationship,

I’ll never perish. Without You, my anxiety is intense;

With You in me, what’s there to fear?

You – who gave birth to my darkness and my Light;

Paved the way to glory from a shadowed past, come!

      I read it tonight. So much power in this poem. One girl asked me to send it to her. I said yes, but on my way home remembered that it was already up. I'll give her the link if she writes. Hari Om!

      Yes, Dee.

      I embellish a lot! People write to me to say that they are surprised I'm grieving so much. I'm not and while I'm here, my past was not so shadowed. Ha ha. I was pretty loved by mom and so I learnt a lot of selflessness. Still, though, we say in the spiritual life that every one has a weakness and mine was/is 'temptations.' Lol.

      I write to express the varying moods of the soul. So many of us can identify here. Gratitude.

      Thank You, Chitrangada.

      Remain beautiful as ever and wishing you the blessings of the great incarnations of India: Lord Rama, Lord Krishna, Lord Buddha, Lord Christ, Lord Chaitanya, Lord Ramakrishna, Lord Aurobindo and Lord Chinmoy. We believe that the Christ visited India, so let's put him in that category also. Glad that you enjoyed the poem. Sukriya.

      Phrases like "silent conversations" and "shadowed past" add a unique mystique to your work. Exceptional!

      Manatita, I'm humbled. What a beautiful surprise on this Monday morning!

      Your love and admiration, along with that which I feel from my HP friends, means the world to me.

      You're right about the boots, my friend. Either boots or bare feet!

      Thank you for your inspiring words, Manatita!

      Ha ha Eric.

      I was one of the resuscitators and Ruby was the other. We are both nurses. Actually, I think we have more nurses here.

      Yes, I wove those lines in an awesome manner. Lol. True, it is comforting and a great image to give a child prior to sleep. Gratitude.

      Not surprised, Linda L. She's a community girl. I could see Shauna, putting her boots on saying: "Come on, let's go!", whenever there's a neighbourly need. Thank you so much!

      Ruby,

      I am very happy that you are enjoying my poems. One from you soon, or would it be a Flash? Muchas gracias.

      I think my life and death are the same to me. I got resuscitated once. They told me about it. I missed out on it, seemed the same to me. Just restful slumber?

      I liked this in the beginning. "You -- who dry my tears in sleep; kiss my cheeks" For some reason it reminded me of kissing my boy's forehead as time for sleep. Most don't know that the tradition is to check the child's temperature. Love.

      I voted always. Can't imagine otherwise.
