You Really Don’t Know Me

You Don't Know

Just because you’ve known me all of your life

Doesn’t mean you know me.

Just because you’ve seen me cry over loss

Doesn’t mean you know me.

Just because you’ve seen me laugh out loud

Doesn’t mean you know me.

Just because you’ve seen me fall a thousand times

Doesn’t mean you know me.

Just because you’ve seen me get back up each thousand time

Doesn’t mean you know me.

Even on the day that I fall and stay down

You still won’t know me.

Mary, it is a fact of life that howsoever one tries and penetrate into one's phsyche, there is still something that can't be touched upon by anyone. You have spoken a universal truth that we certainly know despite not knowing each other. A nice poem, voted up.

Thank you, Harishprasad, I think that it is unfortunate that people put others in a convenient little box and then look surprised when the box is empty. Have a great day!
