Your A Fool Don't You Know

Updated on October 6, 2012

It Happened Again

They seen me coming

Minding my own business I was asked if I could help

An old friend,in a relationship or a family member it doesn't seem to matter

The wheels go spinning round and round

Tire tracks are left and they are not only on the ground

I was in a position they were down on their luck

From the kindness of my heart

I said yes and they promised things would change

A funny feeling took over me

As if you can not change the person who they are

The old saying holds true

You can't change a persons spots

They are who they are

It looked so easy

I believed in a miracle

It was not long before they were long gone

Out of my life for good

Only to reappear somewhere dear

This time they faked their crime

As if it never happened

They have moved on and so should you

But the facts remain the same

The loss is never forgotten

Just a kick in the face or sand in the eye

Now I know better

May this be a lesson for you

If you feel the slightest feeling

Something is just not right

Go with your instincts and back off or run

They are only trouble and you will be left holding an empty bag

Of promises and wishful thinking that never amounted to much

Some call it prarie dust

If you lived on the old west you would know where that is found

Dumb luck or even some say they are cursed

As if a bad spell was responsible

They have chosen the life they lead

You get sucked into their lies of deception

Like a vacume when it gets caught on something

In an instant you can tell you made a dreadful mistake

You hear the noise and by then all hell breaks loose

You wonder if the vacume will ever work again

Most times your lucky there is no real damage

You become very careful not to do that again

In a life where change happens every day

It is only for those who accept it willfully

The other people will avoid it at all cost

Then it is only time and in it's own due process

The truth becomes clear

It's to late you should of stayed far away from here

Whats the saying " Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."

Great insight I have learned all too painfully.

Imaginative and awesome. We all do things we sometimes regret or shouldn't do.
