Light of love

In a mother's eyes, It puts the sun to shame

In the soul of a child, it's pure and bright

In a lover's smile, it melts the heart

The light of love radiates from within

From the top of the head to the tip of the toes

It's a sacred spark, linking hearts to hearts

From the moment of our birth to the day we die

We are dust of stars forever bright

So shine your light, just Let it shine

Source

The Light

Beauty lies within your eyes

It dazzles, dance, and it delights

A certain grace etches your face

Where joy and sorrow carved a place

My soul yearns for your tenderness

Like a child lost in the wilderness

The light you shine, this spark divine

Will hunt me till the end of time

You touched me, and my senses reel

Heavenly, is the way I feel

In this moment of epiphany

Your love is like a Symphony

In you, I've found my destiny

The key to perfect harmony

Your pain will always be my pain

With you, I'll learn to live again

Just shine on me sunset to dawn

You'll never wake to find me gone

From grain of sand to perfect pearl

See how this budding soul unfurl

The light within shines in your eyes

To shame the stars in the velvet skies

I surrender, like night to dawn

Come, resurrect your doe eyes fawn

You were born of a sacred spark

Your lambent smile can tame the dark

Make me more than flesh and blood

Bathe me in your aureate flood

And when the sun falls from the sky

And all the mighty rivers dry

When passion burns as cold as ice

Our love will power paradise

Hi Theresa, lovely to see you!

Yes, we've been experiencing a very hot spell over here also, but the temperature seems to be finally dropping after a massive thunderstorm last night.

Thanks for taking another look at the poem. Always great to see you, I hope all is well, my very best always.

Epi, you are much too kind. You made me smile this morning with your clever and very delightful poem, now I'm in danger of shedding a tear as I read this wonderful comment. Thank you Colin, and a big hug to you, Tiffy and Gabriel over there on the lake.

I've often think that love poetry is a natural extension of the author herself and in this supreme case it reflects the shining light in your beautiful and creative heart - hubbravo from the epi-man for showing the way and letting me into your heart because it's truly a beautiful place to be - sending you warm wishes and good energy from Colin and his cats Tiffy and Gabriel from lake erie time ontario canada 10:48am

This love poem is one of the most beautiful I've read. Such deep feelings expressed so freely and lovingly. I can feel your heart in this piece. The photo is the perfect match and hearing Whitney sing again brought me to tears. I adored her. Voted Up.

Hello Braveworrier, how lovely to see you!...I'm so glad you enjoyed the poem. I try to balance the dark or sad poems with something a little lighter now and again, but as you know it's all to do with the mood.

Thank you very much for stopping by and for the brilliant comment, much appreciated.

      My best to you.

Jo, this is not only beautiful and flows well, but the sentiment is refreshing. I love reading poems that are sparked by good feelings. We don't see too many of them anymore.

      I love this!

Imkarn, so nice to see you, sorry to hear you were none too bright. I did check to see if you had published, I'm in need of your special brand of humour. HP seems hell bent on harassing me, and I'm slowly losing patience, looking for something to help me crack a smile, so I'll be checking in soon.

      As always, much appreciated.

Voted up and awesome. Loved this especially that spectacular ending

Until the sun falls from the sky

And the mighty rivers run dry

When fiery passion turns to ice

It'll still be worth the sacrifice

And yes, it will be worth the sacrifice indeed. True love sigh....

      Passing this on.
