Your Words

Updated on April 3, 2010

Kindness Lives Forever

In this moment,

My need...

Greedy for any drug.

I embrace your words.

In that moment of need,

Your need...

My gifts quelled your ache

And I took your words

For my own.

You can never have them back now

The warmest kiss cannot suck them away from me.

Sincerely given,

Or offered in trade

By a mercantile heart,

They are my only gift.

Proof that I did

What I was meant to do.

A moment in time,

When I did right.

I keep the words safe.

Those words of kindness,

The only thing left to me.

A single morsel

In an empty lunch pail.

Either you are very deep and loving or very shallow to only give for one night. Have you ever wanted to work hard to grow something for a life time? Thumbs up my friend, it is simply not clear if you take or if you give or both.

They are simply words of thanks.
