Where Are My Glasses ?

Updated on December 6, 2016

On Top Of Your Head Where You Left Them

It's tough getting old

First your sight goes

Then your mind follows

It all started when I had trouble touching my toes

I reached down

I knew my body was changing and not asking for permission

Not for the better either

Don't get me wrong

I do a little exercise

Maybe just not enough or the right exercises

You might of heard my hair and I parted ways

We each chose a different path

My teeth are making noises in my sleep

What is that ?

The first thing I do when I get up

Is run to my new favorite room of our home

There I sit and think some more

I know I was dreaming

I know it wasn't long ago

I still can't remember

Heading back to bed

Watching my eyes shut in front of me

I try this get back to that wonderful beauty sleep

Who am I kidding

Just as I turn over

It's time to get up

That noisy alarm clock tipped you off

Can't anyone keep a secret

I am up now

I might as well get an early start

Breakfast first

Thinking comes later

My left arm is sore

What is it with my right ankle

Now my elbow feeling left out

Has to act up

This is where I am so happy I'm married

All my problems are gone

My wife starts complaining and I can't think straight

I forget where I was

She asks me a question ?

Then I have to think before I answer

If I say the wrong thing

My wife gets in a worse mood than before

I will pretend I don't hear her

That lasted a whole twelve seconds

She keeps repeating the question

As if I am on Jeopardy

She says it louder

If I don't answer

She will make me go to the doctors to have my hearing checked

She calls my name

Now I have no choice

So I play it off

Like no big deal

She looks at me

With those pit bull eyes

I will get breakfast

To break down her defenses

She responds quicker than a fire cracker

I will get it

Do you want eggs ?

Sounds good

I will help

Before you know it

I am running around the kitchen

She is barking out orders like a General

The funny thing is she hates war movies

I don't know where she learned it

I think she was born with the drill Sargent talent

Toast in the toaster

Not yet

Can you get the juice ?

Do you have the forks and knives on the table ?

She asks me but she is really telling me

She doesn't have to say move

I am already moving faster than before

Jelly ?

How many eggs do you want ?

She has been giving me two eggs for the past fifteen years

It's a trick question

To see if I am still listening

I say two in a low tone

I can feel the power struggle

If I come back with three

Why three when you always have two ?

If I say one

She says ones not enough

You will be hungry later

Two is the correct and only answer

As we sit down to breakfast

Charlotte our cat is the smart one

She left to go to the other room

Let's just say I can relate to most of this, Dream On. I am always misplacing my glasses and they are usually in a very obvious place.

Jodah I would wear sunglasses in the summer and lose them occasionally. Now I use reading glasses and take them off and put them on. Oops their gone. Thank you for reading and sharing. The sun lights the way. Have a great day.

I can certainly identify with most of what you have shared my friend. Blessings. whonu

whonunuwho I would be lost without my loving wife. I exaggerate and add for effect. It takes my mind off where are those glasses. I read all my hubs to my wife first. Sometimes she laughs, smiles or says really. We have each other. Thank you for reading and sharing. Good things happen for a reason. Great things happen unexpected.
