A Few Short Poems About Summer

Updated on September 17, 2010

Have A Great Summer!

A few short poems about summer may help you reminisce during the summertime or any time of the year about the memories that summer holds. Summer can be such a fun time of the year especially when you live in a climate that has blistering cold winters, barely any spring and not enough autumn. Summer is the season that so many people wait for to enjoy vacations, picnics, bar-b-ques, weddings, swimming, sailing, fishing and so much more.

Make this summer one of the best that you have ever had. Make sure you take plenty of pictures with your cell phone camera or digital camera. Start a new family tradition or a few, of lasting happy summer memories.

There are so many places to go: car races, summer only outside auto or truck shows, bumper car driving, picnic in your backyard, in the park, local fairs, outside concerts, fishing, water slides, snorkeling, riverboat parties, cruise ship vacation, have a summer backyard party, use your imagination, just enjoy this summer and all that life, family, community and the world has to offer.

And then write about it in a poem or short story and share it here for all to enjoy on Hub pages.

Summer Breeze

Summer breeze,

Caressed me,

upon my back,

It felt so good,

Caught me up

in Mother Nature's trap,

I wish

I could

get tanned and warmed

all season through,

Summer sun,

Summer breeze,

Cool me down,

I'm beholding to you.

Hot Fun

Light the citronella,

Keep the bugs away,

Fire up the bar -be,

We'll have fun today!

Don't mind the babies

crying,

It will get lost in the sun

With laughter from

Water splashes,

New day memories

And sliding down

Hot fun.

Bahama Fun

Laying here on the beach

In the Bahamas,

Soaking up some sun,

Laughing with the natives

Ordering one more Bahama Rum,

Sipping down the cool mist

of a Yellow Bird or two,

My friends all agree

with Fire Island Sunrise

in hand or not,

It's better in the Bahamas

Always serving up new memories

And revisiting the ones you got.
