Sin

Updated on April 5, 2012

I’m told
God hates the sin
but loves the sinner
I find them hard to separate –
a common mortal
failing.
I am who I’ve become
because of my sins
choices that have strayed me
from the straight and narrow.
Shaped by questions and actions
Unsanctioned.
My sins have formed me –
am I sin?
Or sinner?
Loved –
or reviled?

When you find the answers to those questions let me know because I'll know about my life as well. Great questions to ponder...very nice job!

Very nice poem and very nice presentation. Because of the questions you're asking I would recommend reading "The Screwtape Letters" by C.S. Lewis. You can find the whole text online if you google it. It's a book about a senior demon writing letters to a lower demon who is working to sway some ordinary guy from the path of God.

I haven't read the Screwtape Letters in 15 years! I need to revisit them for sure, thanks for the reminder!
