mumbled memories

Mumbled Memories

by Annette Gagliardi

Mumbled moments
    obstinately tenacious,
cling to what’s left of my mind.

Mystery memories
    half-gone in a twinkling,
        emerge as my life unwinds.

Mention the name
    of my lover and spouse
and hope that I catch it in time.

Touch me just so
    as if you must go,
And I’ll whisper that I will be fine.

This is a stock internet photo someone sent me in an email of photos. I'm sorry to not know who the photographer is.

How much memory can we loose before we just loose it all together?

I want to say that I feel like we all loose parts of our mind - some of us more than others. Lack of sleep, stress, and allergies are my current excuses.
