Like most things in life the Internet will soon pass into history most probably faster than many things before it.
As someone who enjoys historical research it amazes me how the technological development has accelerated over the past two hundred years, something that seems to be largely ignored to most people under 40.
How could anyone survive without Jet travel, PC computers, the Internet, mobile phones, satellite communications, I pods and half a dozen other necessities of modern life ? All of which has been developed within my life time, so Yet not only did we survive without them but we probably had a hand in their development.
In literature the only difference will be the delivery system, from verbal storytelling to the written word of books, via the digital age to E Books.
With the reinvention of 3D technology and micro miniaturisation I can foresee a time when the great classics can be acted out inside your head.
