With me it usually means that I need to take a break.  Go out for a walk with the dog.  Take 30 minutes to read something non-writing related or clean the house.  Even go shopping.  It comes back soon.

Get some peace of mind. In doing an activity that brings tranquility or 'comfortably' comforting to you. Creativity usually doesn't do with our being hard working like other things. But don't stop. Keep scribbling ideas that forms. When the drive and inspiration returns, try making use of the ideas or plots previously. The key is perseverance or you'll just end up quitting. But without a clear mind, you lose the quality of your work at best which flows naturally in a calm mode.

Live your life.  Writer's Block/Blogger's Procrastination?  Label it as that, and you will get it.  All these years, I thought I had Writer's Block, but what I had was a job I loved, and I let it consume me to a point where I didn't want to do anything else.  When you are ready, you will write.  If you force your writing, it will show.  As a writer, it doesn't hurt to experience life.  When you feel like you aren't getting anywhere with the writing, stop and do something fun.  Who knows?  You may end up writing about your experiences.  Live your life.  Then go from there.

I don't have this issue very often anymore, but when I do, I find it helpful to jsut say anything.  not necessarily to post it, but that could help too.  if you are not facing actual deadlines then getting a break is probably the best advice you're going to get.  But if you are on a deadline, then brainstorming (or brain dripping as it were) may be helpful.  In the following hub you can see how I did it at one point in time (http://royperrin.hubpages.com/hub/A-Ser … m-Thoughts).  It helped me at the time, but now I mostly just hop some hubs and questions and find inspiration.

It depends, if I can't seem to get any ideas about blogging or writing, I look for new ways to become inspired... for example, my blog is political and when I am short on ideas all I have to do is watch the news, listen to my favourite news-talk radio station and listen to what callers are ranting about, or pick up a book I haven't gotten around to reading like Hayek or a political biography for example.  I usually begin having ideas by the next day.

If I have ideas in my head, but when I sit down at the computer and just see a blank screen, it's usually because I'm trying too hard in my mind to write the perfect piece.  The best advice for this is to just start writing and don't worry about whether it sounds bad or how it turns out.  You don't even have to write complete sentences, you can just jot down words or phrases that come to mind that you want to write about.

I also like listening to music to help me relax and if it gets the juices flowing, I like to write them down (brainstorm) for further development later.

Simply, write and put everything else out of your mind.

I just write and write and write.  Sometimes I get nothing but trash, but I've written, and other times I've continued on.  Regardless of the outcome, I've worked on my writing.

My favorite advice from a writing instructor was to write out a "crap draft" and spill out whatever is in your head without censoring or judgment. A lot of that will be unusable, but some of it will turn into something. Plus, you will clear your head this way.
