   Does anyone have their own website and how did they go about it?
   
   I was hoping  I can open like a sort of book reading group/poetry online. with forums etc. Anyone , any ideas?! (will not be here to read answers till a little later on but will definately take all the ideas into consideration)

   PS:: The site will be in my mother language where other people I know could take part .. due to language barrier for some it is difficult to find the right site to join

   You can use Wordpress.org which is a blog hosting site but it can be made to look like a website. It has all the tools you need and step-by-step instructions. Or wordpress.com. Wordpress.com is great if you don't have your own domain name.
   
   For myself at my websites at www.kissingbooth.com and www.howtokiss.info, I have my own web domain name, which costs a small amount, and I have a web host, which does cost a bit more. And I use FrontPage software to create the site and put in polls, articles and a forum. But your best bet, for now, would be wordpress.com.

   Good Morning, Ela - Sounds to me like you could have a fine blog such as one offered to you free of cost through "Blogger" or one of the others.  There are many of those on the Internet, so you could visit a few of them to see how they work and to gauge how they would fill your own needs.
   
   If you would rather have a "conventional" sort of Web site, they are easy enough to obtain and keep - and you could also have a "blog" be a part of one of those, too.  I am thinking of adding a "WordPress" blog to your Web site or a "Blogger" blog or some other brand of blog so that you would not have to become a computer programmer so as to construct your own blog.  Blogger and WordPress also give you the opportunity to have your blog pages active and stored away from your Web site pages, and that saves you the cost of renting the necessary host space to hold them.

   I have 2 very successful websites (my own bought domain names, CheekyGirl's Apartment - cheekygirlsapartment.com - and Webonist - webonist.com) - both on Weebly. I am planning more websites as there is no limit to where you can go with your own websites and blogs. They allow Google Adsense, Amazon ads, (on an owned domain) and affiliates all you want. I am planning to increase my online earnings significantly in 2012, and Facebook and Google and a few other great social media are helping me to expand.
   
   Check out the free Weebly.com websites. There is no limit on the size of your site and the features are reliable and excellent. I love Weebly.
   
   You can also use Blogger and Wordpress, (many free amazing templates for both of them) or Joomla, or Typepad. There are lots of them out there. Weebly has a built-in Forum creator! Check Astra Nomik's Weebly poetry website. I helped her make it. The world is your oyster! And you don't need to know any html!

   You can use services such as Weebly (www.weebly.com) - they have an easy, drag & drop interface to create your own website. It's free, powerful, and professional.
   
   Or, you can use Wordpress and add a 'plug in' for a forum. Sign up for a good hosting such as Dreamhost (my favorite, i have used them for years, and their service is fantastic, cost is around $10/month). Buy a domain name (you can do that with them too, an average .com domain costs around $10/year). They offer a free 'one click install', meaning you can have your wordpress blog installed on your domain name within minutes. Then you choose your template (they have lots of wonderful templates), add your content, then add the plug in for a forum.
   
   By the way, regarding Blogger - i have used them before, but i don't think there is an option for a forum. Plus, Blogger has been known to remove people's content if they are not happy with anything that is being published. I personally love Wordpress for it's simplicity and flexibility.  :-)
