If you had a device to warp you 1000 years into the future never to return, would you go, and why?

no, by then technology will have advanced to such a degree that Bladerunner type robots will be here and i wouldn't be around for that!

No way.  First I would have no idea what I was warping into, desolation, deprivation or that zombie apocalypse everyone keeps talking about! :-)  Plus I'm pretty happy here with my little family.

Wow, is nobody going to say yes? All these years of reading Sci-Fi and thinking something like this would be great, and that anybody would relish the opportunity. Apparently not. I think the only argument I could understand for not going would be not wanting to leave family behind. Fear of what would be waiting for you though? Where's the spirit of adventure!

no one wants to be zapped 1000 years into the future because,...

    A) they dont have faith that the human race or even the planet will be here in 1000 years ( i think we and our planet will still be here, still asking age old questions)

    B) as long as humans have existed we have always had eyes in our hearts that look BACKWARD,... not forward

    C) if you've ever gone to a new city and been invited to a party where you dont know a soul, have no clue about the customes and barely speak the language,.... zapping 1000 years into the future would be that x100,.... awkward

    D) theres no way to make money at it,... and money drives us.

      Hmmm..fair comments I suppose:-)
Maybe the question should be revised as follows:

'If you could warp 1000 years into the future in the knowledge that you would land safely, be well off for life, and have 3 friends come with you...would you go?'

Well, as it happens, you're in luck. I have a couple of spare tickets. I'll swop them for your house, your car, your pets and your Hubpages revenue...
