I think a writer should have an informal voice in an article and "speak" to the reader as if he/she were sitting right in front of them. That means using a mix of "you and I" in the article's text. But I just wrote this in 3rd person, and you'll notice it has a rather detached tone. The internet ( I am assuming we're talking about the internet), lends itself better to a less formal and more conversational voice in writing.
I personally like to use the "you" voice, and keep the article in second person, and avoid that notorious voice shift between third and second person, or if if I'm writing from personal experience, then use "you and I".
