For real enjoyment and easy reading, my wife and I both enjoy teen fiction, written for teens. Our favorite series is Young Wizards, by Diane Duane. And we're both over fifty!

I enjoy fiction about characters who are in their teens the best.  This is the time of life when you notice everything and are the most adventurous.  It also reminds older readers, I'm just about to turn 44, about our youth.

I enjoy fiction with characters of all ages. Some of the older characters are learning things that I am learning too. The children and teen adventures are interesting. Shoot, I enjoy all fiction, if it is well written.

I love a sort of adventure romance that doe not have graphic sex in it. I feel it just gets in the way of the story.  I like the characters to be mid to late 20's before they have settled down with marriage and kids.

I also enjoy (as SidKemp) mentioned teen fiction. It is uncomplicated by adult things and makes for a quick enjoyable read.  For me anyway.

I haven't done it yet, but lately I've have had a hankering to re-read all the early Nancy Drews. That's it for "teen" fiction. All other fiction, I have no particular "favorite" age for the main character.  If the character is interesting enough to keep me turning the pages, his/her age doesn't matter. ;D
