What type of writer should you be to get more traffic to your hubs?
It really does not seem to matter. The main thing is to create well written, well presented Hubs. If you write it, they will come.
Thank you so much for the answer Bronwyn J Hansen.
I try to be myself. I know that sounds like a cliche cop-out but it's effective. I don't really try to write on "popular" or "controversial" subjects...I really just write about what I'm interested in. I'm not the most popular person on HubPages by any means, not even close, but I feel like i've got a pretty good thing going here. Most importantly I enjoy it, which means that my hubs are genuine and written with enthusiasm. I think that's really important -- it shouldn't feel like a chore to write hubs.
Thank you so much for your suggestion A Karpinski.
It can always help to write the genres that are "hot" right now. But that's not everyone's cup of tea, and if you aren't great at writing the trendy stuff, or just don't enjoy it, then it will show and your writing will suffer. I agree with the two previous answers. Be yourself, because that's when you'll produce your best stuff, and write well. I know I'm always willing to a read a new writer if their writing is well done and clean.

This is a difficult question to answer because there is no formula to follow if you want to attract more traffic. HubPages attracts all sorts of writer, from the purely personal 'I've experienced this and want you to understand how I'm feeling and what I think' type of writing, to simple recipe writing. In between lies fiction, poetry and practical how to hubs.
In all genres the message is clear : if you want success, produce high quality informative hubs and keep them coming!! Statistics show that 80% of your traffic will eventually come from about 20% of your hubs, on average.
More traffic doesn't necessarily follow good writing!! Online writing varies tremendously in its quality but if you want to develop solid traffic and sustainable viewing then write about what you know in as passionate a way as you can. In time you'll create a core of readers and they'll organically pass on your content.
You can be yourself - as others have advised - and that's great advice - but be prepared to learn from analytics and other sources if you want increased traffic.
All the very best.
Thank you so much for your advice chef-de-jour. I will take it into consideration.
I think to get good traffic you should write accurately about anything that is new. Good original topics will command good traffic. Writing material that is emotive, passionate and from the heart will also get you some good traffic. Good Luck for this from Safiq Ali Patel.

I log on every day, and it seems that I always find negative things popping up in the forums. I am sorry that so many people are struggling on HubPages. From SEO issues to having popular hubs unfeatured for a multitude of reasons, it seems very discouraging for any newcomers. When I first got here...
