Well ... I hope not, but then I do. Let me explain.
I have 14 "electronic" titles. I also have 12 titles in "paper form," and they are sold in bookstores around the world. They make me a nice amount of money. However, as soon as they become electronic (usually after the mass market paperback comes out), the electronic copies make me even more money--sometimes the most money for that title.
My publisher now releases the paper and electronic versions simultaneously. Two years ago, paper sold more. This past year, it was an even 50/50 split. Thus, the trend for sales of books seems to be heading toward electronic.
As a purist, I much prefer to hold a book with pages. As an author, I prefer any method that will put my work in a reader's hands the quickest.
Can you sense my ambivalence?!
