Do you use a freewrite to spark ideas?
I like using freewrites from a keyword for both poetry and fiction, does anyone else like this method or prefer another way?
I did not get it. Do you mean that for ideas in poetry, they originate from a technical program? And they eminate off of Keywords?
If I read you right --- yes I get inspiration from life not machines.
Hi I appreciate your answer, thankyou. It is as you said from real life, it is just a means to allow your idea to expand.
I write whatever comes to my mind instantly. I don't like preparing and writing a tailor made reply. Whatever you speak or write must come from within your heart.
I agree with you. Every writing should be from within your heart. Then only your writing will get its perfection.
I take the idea that comes to mind then write blind from it to see what flows. I totally agree everything you write must be straight from the heart, or everyone will know! Thankyou for answering and your time.
If you mean to just write what comes to mind until you spark an idea, I've tried this method, but not by starting with a specific keyword. I just write and see where it ends up. I've wrote plenty of fan fiction with nothing more than a starting thought. Poetry comes to me the same way. I really wish I could develop my fiction stories this easy.
Hiya, I have the idea in my idea, i.e. lonely girl, red sunset etc. Then I write from that thought anything that comes to me, which is usually really diverse but it is interesting the things that come up. Thankyou for your answer and your time.
For me, I write whatever comes to mind. I really don't think about keywords, especially when writing poetry.
Hi Joanne thankyou very much for answering, I probably shouldn't have used the phrase keyword. What I meant was I use the idea that has came to me and using it as a prompt, let it run free to see what it turns into.
Sometimes, like the way you might break in a horse. It starts out wild and out of control, but as I get a feel for the turns it takes I tame it into a direction I want it to go.
Really? I have never heard a cowboy speak such. Are you? or is it just methaphysics?
This is so true, freewrites are wild and out of control! Thankyou for answering
I am not really too familiar with free writes that you are referring to. But when I compose either a fiction, or non-fiction story or article. I usually jot down ideas on a sheet of paper from past & present everyday experiences, then build the story from beginning to end. That is as long as writers block doesn't get the best of me during the writing process.
Thankyou for answering, a freewrite is just an extension of writing down the idea. You start with the inspiration/idea you had for the fiction then write down anything that comes into your head. It is all a bit random but quite insightful.
Hello Anna;
Anna - Thank you for clarifying free write for me. So basically when I jot down notes about my writing ideas, I am actually free writing? This would make a good article for you to write on, if you haven't already.
Yes, I suppose it is just by a different name. Maybe I could Thankyou.
Thanks for taking the time to read and answer
Thankyou for answering, I have no fans so just as well I have freewrites
I don't use anything to give me ideas, God often wakes me up with the idea running through my head. Although sometimes the idea will come in the daytime , but most of the time at night,I sleep with a tablet and bed right beside me every night. because I never know when I will need to write it down, I can't trust my memory anymore. I hope I answered your question. Clara
Thankyou Clara, I have notebooks wherever I go and write down ideas when I think of them but then I like to write from that idea to see what comes out of it , if anything. I would forget too if I didn't write things down.

When do your best writing ideas inspire you?Sometimes, my inspiration comes at 2 AM and I find myself up 'til 4 getting that story on paper or screen. Other times, by 11 PM, my mind has shut down and I can barely remember why I love to write. Those 2 AM sparks often require drastic...

Hi, everyone. Thank you in advance for reading; this is a little long-winded.When I was a kid, I loved writing books. I'd sit at the computer for hours, typing. I knew I was going to be a writer one day. Even my elementary school teacher said I had talent. When I was 22 I got a publishing contract...
