What you think about the role of role model to create good personalities ?
I believe that we are all role models every time we come into contact with another person, whether we realize it or not.
If we are kind, considerate and patient, we are modeling the type of behavior that will bring out the best in others.
If we are rude and impatient, we can make others believe that this is the way they should behave, too.
You never know how one act of kindness can cause a chain reaction that makes the entire world a better place. In a way, we all "Pay it Forward" every day of our lives.
History itself is full of their successes. Millions of people have derived benefit from the Christ, as well as those who have found peace.
The Buddha lived 2,500 years ago, and today there are thousands of stupors, pagoda's, etc in his honour. Martin Luther King and many great civil rights movement ambassadors have inspired millions all over the globe.
Do you see the reviews that Mandela is getting? or Mother Theresa got? Role models invoke in us the spirit of joy, of goodness and of hope. They serve as inspiration to push us forward and get us up when all is seemingly lost. I know a man who when he experiences problems, looks at the picture of his favourite older friend, and then he feels inspired to make the effort.
We are affected by old ladies on TV, or a cause such as Poppy Day or Bill Gates and his foundation. I could go on. So yes, role models do help us and show us the way to inner happiness, equanimity and content. It is a necessary role done effortlessly by true role models without even thinking about this.
If you're referring to good role models for children; my point is, if the child's parents were good role models the child wouldn't have to look elsewhere.
I think that having a role model is a great person to have. A role model is capable of creating good personalities by encouraging and mentoring someone. The person looks up to the role model, so they should have a great, nice, leader personality. Idk if that answered your question. But personally, having a mentor/role model is a very helpful person to have as we live life. It can help someone tremendously.

I think the actions of a Role Model should always be expressed with caution
For example a parent who is a Role Model should always behave or al least try to maintain postive behavior especially in the presence of their child and their children's peers.
I'm not sure the idea of "role models" is a good idea anymore. Too often we hear young people shout out that some celebrity has always been their role model. And too often we hear the media declare that athletes need to hold themselves out as role models. The truth be told, the people most often held out to be role models are usually are not "good" role models.
Most celebrities and most athletes do whatever necessary at whatever cost to themselves and others to obtain fame & fortune. I personally do not want those people to be thought of as "role models" by my children. For example in sports. There seemed to be a time when athletes aspired to good sportsmanship. At least I witnessed numerous examples of such when I was growing up as a kid. Now, athletes, their coaches & their team owners aspire to "win" at all cost. In basketball they feign fouls. In football they fake injuries and entice opponents to commit penalties. Female musicians dress & move about in performances as slutty as possible to attract audiences. Actors will say or do anything to get a part in a movie or a role on television. And fame & money is always the goal. Bigger cars, houses, extravagant living with wine, women & song, & no commitment to family & home.
I think the term "role model" has become two words to be ignored. I think it better that one only aspire to be the best they can at what they intend to do. Do not look to others for example. Do not try to be someone else. Just be the best you can be.

Where are they? Is it healthy for our kids to be watching Serena threaten a line judge? Tiger Woods throwing his clubs around when he doesn't sink a puttt? Joe Wilson calling our president a liar? Kanya West embarrassing himself and everyone else? Chris Brown smacking his girlfriend around?...

Okay, to Earnest...If you looked at the whole "religion" thing as trying to find a role model, would it seem unreasonable to you?(speaking in a broad view, with no specific religion addressed)
