Not exactly local to here, where I live in London, but to the region I'm from. You'll see pages on walks and drives between East Yorkshire and Northumberland under the general heading 'TRAVEL NORTH -' .
On Tripadvisor I've written a few reviews of attractions around the North Yorkshire Moors, such as a B&B I've stayed at a few times - once self-catering - known as Laskill Grange (erstwhile Laskill Farm, in Bilsdale at the Western edge of the Moors) as well as the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (NYMR), the Whitby-Scarborough Railway Walk, Whitby Abbey (with Cholmley Hall - pronounced 'Chumley') and the Captain Cook Museum in Whitby.
I don't make any cash out of Tripadvisor, but you can always be sure of a great atmosphere at Whitby, on the NYMR or at Laskill. I've advertised my books through Laskill, leaving my cards in the lounge in the main farmhouse with the owner, Sue Smith. Take a look and see if it isn't worth the trip.
Someone (was it you?) asked a question about things to see in Dublin which I answered at length and was rewarded by a glowing 'thankyou' note on the question page. Makes it worthwhile, don't it?
