    Do poems (as opposed to recipes and articles) generally get lower Hub scores on Hub pages?

    My poems have mid-range scores, but by far my fewest comments, which is too bad.  I'd like to know what they make people think and feel.

    I used to write many articles and now mostly poetry, and I have definitely notice a downturn in both comments and score. Over a two year period I hit 100 five times and when they changed the algorithm for determining hub scores, I have been around late 80's to early nineties since. I believe the determining factors certainly disadvantage poetry, even if you add five or so pics and another text panel.

    Yes, this is true. Of my 64 hubs, those at the bottom with the lowest hubscores are poem hubs. Even though all of them have images, added text for content, and even some with polls and videos, they are still my lowest scoring hubs (ranging from the low to high seventies).

    Well, being a person who doesn't get any financial benefits from HubPages, I would look forward to getting some sort of rating.  But my poetry usually receives “NOT FEATURED - ENGAGEMENT” or even “NOT FEATURED - QUALITY”.
    A couple of days ago, I looked at one of my poems, which happens to be one of the best things I have ever written, to discover it right at the bottom of the list, bar one.  And also “NOT FEATURED - QUALITY”!
    So I tarted it up with pretty pictures and any amount of crap, which brought it up the ratings... but only a little.
    When are the “powers that be” going to realise that poetry shouldn’t need an explanation as to its meaning, but should be able to stand on its own feet without a plethora of videos, pretty pictures and all that that entails?
    Hey ho!  I’m glad I write for fun and not to live.
