Can anyone give me pointers to write good articles?
I just started, so, I'm in Boot Camp. I consider myself a good author, but I don't quite get why my hubs aren't passing. any help would be appreciated
Hi, NickMc.
Firstly, write about the subject matter which interests you. You're knowledgeable about it and, quite likely passionate about it, so if you write from your heart it will probably be impactful.
Secondly, take a look at those articles which are accepted. The Hub people seem to like them to be not less than 1,000 words but probably know more than, say 3,000 words. Many of mine come in around 1500, and that includes what I've written above the photos I've included.
As to photos, use five, seven or nine or so. I've never placed a video so I can't comment on those, but they are popular and do get good ratings generally.
The way I undertake a Hubpage is to first of all write an essay in Word. Then I check that over and save it to my essays, sending a second copy to MY DOCs where I cut and paste each paragraph into Hubs pages one at a time. Be sure to go to the right hand column of the Hub page and download to the part where you put your paragraphs and pictures in the sequence you want to put them in. I generally place a photo in every second or third paragraph and make them half-size.
Hope this has been of help.
Read. A lot.
Reading established articles will not only give you inspiration, but allow you to see how the more successful writers are doing it.
Visit the hubpages tutorial section and start there.
Good luck!
First think about any fact or matter around your environment. Once when you feel that it has a wide scope. then conduct researches about that particular issue. and write in your own words
Definitely write about what is interesting to you. Be more aware of what people are asking and getting confused about because most likely they are not alone. If you know how to do something, write a tutorial article. If you like to write stories, write a story. If you write music, write the lyrics and link the music to your article.
Just be creative. Be yourself. Reach out to those on here who are successful. It is a great community!
Hopefully you are having better luck now.
(1) Word count. I have had Hubs rejected because they believed them too short, the rejects were about 400 words. Try to shoot for 1,000 words if a rejected Hub has less words than that.
(2) Grammer. Unless you're certain about your grammer try to get someone, preferably someone who is a stickler for proper English, give your Hub a look.
(3) Things to boost numbers. Consider adding pictures, polls, or other extras to your rejected hubs.

Can you give a few pointers to a 'newish' writer?Do you have any Do's and Don't's?I will start with - "Never, ever use exclamation points." Use words not punctuation to display the mood.

Hi there,I was preparing a hub for publishing. After I finished my article, it has slightly more than 2000 words in total. So my question is, whether this article has the potential for getting more traffic or not?
