What book are you currently reading, and how would you rate it?

I'm currently reading a novel by William D. Holland, a dazzling second novel, the book is funny, sad, thoughtful and brilliantly original. The image below shows some of the books on my self, what are you reading and how would you rate it.

"Liberty Bell 7:The Suborbital Mercury Flight of Virgil I. Grissom" by Colin Burgess---an excellent read as we approach the 45th anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission; a mission not possible without men like Grissom.

I am reading Russell Simmons's bestseller, "Success Through Stillness." It's about the value of daily meditation for success in overall health and business. It is very down-to-earth, easy to read, and full of research and anecdotal examples that keep it real. I give it 9.

Hard Choices by Hillary Clinton.  I find it fascinating to be reading history from her perspective.  I believe Hillary is very sincere and genuine in wanting to serve her country.  I have to read this so I know who to vote for in 2016.  I have read Obama's books and I feel he has become so cynical from his experiences as president.  He comes across to me as an altogether different person than for whom I voted.

All of the Grafton alphabet books in the Kinsey Millstone series are good. I know--I've read the entire series. Grafton has nearly reached the end of the alphabet.

I am a fan of Canadian writer Louse Penny's Inspector Gamache series. After reading her latest, HOW THE LIGHT GETS IN (2013), I began all over with the first, STILL LIFE, and have worked my way through this wonderful series up to A TRICK OF THE LIGHT(2011). It's no surprise that Penny's won nearly every award available and stays on the best-seller list. Gamache and her other characters are wonderful. I highly recommend the series.

I'm glad to see so many people are reading Bill Holland's novel, RESURRECTING TOBIAS.  It's a powerful story of how choices can affect lives and a moving tribute to the redemptive powers of self-awareness and love.  Warning: His style may addict you.

Last night I started reading "Occupational Hazard" by Elizabeth Parker. I only got through about 20 pages before going to bed, but so far it's good. I can only rate it as good because the action is just starting. If it's anything like her other novels, I'll be giving it a great review when I'm finished.

Is that 'our' Elizabeth Parker? I've read a couple of her books about dogs which I enjoyed tremendously.   I'll have to check on it.

    Hi Jo,

I, too, am reading Bill's novel and it is all that you have stated.  I am also reading another book sent to me by a fellow hubber and friend, "Rhinestone Jesus" and it is so inspiring.  A true story by Kristen Welch.  It really gets one thinking about whether we are settling for a shiny, pinned-on, ornamental faith or desiring that faith that is messy, bold, and courageous.

Hi Jo, I am reading "Resurrecting Tobias" by Bill as well, and enjoying it. Definitely worth the read and a bit of an emotional rollercoaster. Also "Changing Planes" by Ursula Le Guin and it is a very interesting fantasy, probably 8/10.
