How to write an ode? With passion and a strong emphasis on poetic meter. Study the structure of Keats' ode: "Ode to a Mockingbird", which has the rhyming scheme of "ABABCDECDE"
This particular scheme means line 1 and 2 (A and B) rhyme
Lines 3 rhymes with line 1 and line 4 rhymes with line 2
Line 8 rhymes with line 5
Line 9 rhymes with line 6
Line 10 rhymes with line 7
Each stanza in the ode consists of 10 lines
It may be a bit confusing at times, but once you get the hang of it you will find it is quite smooth - it takes a lot of focus, though.
